Well I promised to keep you posted on our sport. I have to apologize for not writing before but I've had a lot of work, and thats good news. On with the update. I have a couple of things to talk about. One of the issues we've had at our recent shoot off was the continuous problem with targets not falling. Not to undermine the work put in by some of our members making these targets, but we did have problems. This was due to the pounding they got from high power airguns. Two approaches have been taken to remedy this. The purchase of new field targets from Mr. Dick Otten. Take my word on this, these targets look like they were made by Hummer . The fit, finish and quality is second to none. Yo can get his targets at http://fieldtargets.com/index.htm. The other course is lowering the power of guns to under 20 foot pound. This is more difficult than it might sound. People are used to there rifles as they are. We're asking them to change there rifles and get used to something new. Also there is the problem of rifles that can't be adjusted. What do we do, tell them to go home? On the other hand, targets are expensive, and a lot of the new targets are owned by private members, not the club! We'll see how this plays out. I believe that as a member of AFTA we should abide be the rules and put a power limit of 20 Fpe. We are also planning a big shootout in the winter time so all you gringos that live in the north and are freezing you buts off can come here and shoot in 85 degree weather in January. We have a competition on the 27th of this month, I'll keep you posted as everything plays out. Keep shooting straight and safe!
